For me, Sunday mornings are more relaxed.

During the summer I usually drive to the beach and spend a couple hours reading, swimming or surfing. I’ll eat lunch at my usual spot, then come home and spend the rest of the day relaxing.

I’m very thankful to be able to have this time to reset and relax.

During the fall and winter, I spend my Sunday mornings cleaning and straightening up the house. Sometimes a full clean, sometimes just a quick reset. But I love this time just as much because if you enjoy a home that’s organized and everything is where you want or need it to be, you know how satisfying it is.

I take this time to put on a vinyl record and listen to the entire album (this morning I’m listening to Miles Davis’ “Kind of Blue”).

As I straighten up this morning I’m incredibly content. I’m gently accomplishing some goals around the home, and when it’s all done I can sit back and just keep listening to my records.

This time alone allows me to focus and just be present. Whatever I’m doing, I do it mindfully.

I don’t always listen to music. Sometimes it’s pure solitude with just my thoughts. I never have a TV on in the background (I’m thinking that may be another post, because I used to be that person).

We all value time alone, but we all experience it differently. Take some time for yourself today.

It doesn’t have to be anything special or important. It doesn’t have to be a task.

It just needs to be a moment for you. Take it.
